Where can I buy an ADT motion detector?

Obtaining the motion detector is really not a problem, installing it is. ADT won’t give you the codes needed to add a motion detector to your system, and I would be willing to bet they will not add a motion detector that you have purchased through some other vendor.
You can check for an alarm system on Ebay, there are usually several “surplused” systems that can be installed with only a little technical know-how. If you do not feel comfortable with installing the system yourself then you would likely be advised to shop around a bit and get quotes from the local suppliers for an alarm system installed, then use those quotes to get a better deal out of one of the major players.
It’s worth a try.
