security system sensor
call the alarm company, ask them, that way you will get the proper answer. I work for an alarm company, and there are different devices for the windows, and one mess up, you’ll have to get it replaced, which will probably cost you.

It is simpler to just disable the alarm for that window from the main console. If you don’t know how to do it, call the alarm company.
(in other words, leave the sensor there, but reprogram the console to ignore events from that sensor).

its only double sided taped on the window, just pull off the magnet (the smaller box) and the transmitter (the bigger box) and leave them next to each other in storage just like they were when they were on your window. just do this when the alarm is off. if you pop off the cover, there is a tamper switch that will put the alarm into trouble. or you can bypass that zone when you arm the system. hit your code + 6 + 2 digit zone number + * (star). then arm the system. it will arm everything but the window. i dont know why you would want to do this, other than trying to sneak out, but either way there’s a few options. you can also just remove the magnet and tape it directly to the side of the transmitter. the only way it sets off is when the magnet separates 1 1/2″ from the transmitter. or if you know the installer code, hit the installer code + 800 (that will get you into programming). if you dont know the installer code to get into programming, unplug the power and the battery on the system to power it down completely. then power it back up and within 30 seconds of powering it back up you have to hold in the star and pound keys together for 3 seconds on the keypad and that will jump you into programming. you will see 20 on the keypad. then hit star 56 then star again. you’ll see 01 on the keypad. hit the window’s 2 digit zone number (it’ll be a number between 10 and 40 probably) then hit star twice. you’ll probably see 03 on the keypad. hit 00 star. then hit 1. then hit 00 star 99. you’ll have it deprogrammed from the system then.
Check out if you have any interest in a home security system. It is the ultimate do-it-yourself security website. You can buy Honeywell products, find specs, manuals, installation videos, device sounds, and they are one of the few websites that give full warranties with the products. They also offer the best alarm system monitoring for only $15 per month and if you’re stuck in a contract with a company paying the usual $30 to $40 per month, they will help you get out of the contract early so you can start saving hundreds per year.
