Yes for the most part. I have one in my home/office which does pretty much all of that. These are the fun systems
1- Hardwire is best but there are hardwire wireless combo’s. I would not reccommend wireless. If quick installation is key, system can replace existing hardwired alarm system utylising existing wires and detectors. (Except for microphones)
2- low profile motion detectors are available but you will get better coverage and less false alarms with standard ones.
3- All alarms have monitoring ability through standard phone lines. Cellular back-up or cellular only options are available.
4 – That’s what monitoring stations do. The monitoring station can be instructed to act according to your instructions (ie call you on your cell phone if you prefer not to have the police notified.)
a. relying on the system to call your cell is impractical as you may be out of range and miss the call. Monitoring station can try a series of numbers and retry until they get hold of you.
b. 2 Way voice is available
c. 2 Way voice allows you to call into the system enter a passcode and talk through speakers. – Permimeter sensors can also activate lights and/or programmable voice siren driver which can be programmed with a warning message in your voice. (ie “get out of my yard you thieving crack head”)
d. You can also control lights through X-10 modules and/or relays all controllable over the phone and or with timers.
e. Remote video monitoring can be done, that can be integrated with the alarm but involves additional equipment and a little monkeying around.
5. Any control panel can be moved. The new place will need to be wired though.
If you are serious about this project and realise this is beyond your typical $99 Tyco crap deal feel free to give me a shout and we can talk. I can be reached through my website at or you can contact me through my Yahoo answers profile.
